    Well, here I go giving advice on form, and this very morning after 6 weeks of no deads, *I* tweaked my back.

    There's your consolation prize. Mine is a 3 year old injury from lifting too much weights as a mover.

    How's your back doing DS? I'll be hitting the hot water bottle all day at work tomorrow.

      For a back spasm, I would go on no activity for a week, and light activity for a week. Spasm's indicate damage to soft tissue, the pain and tightness come from the surrounding tissues forming a 'cast' around it so it can heal.

          My back was fucked up for 7 months during my prep for 5 contests......I still hit the gym and trained around the injury.

          Couldn`t squat,so I relied heavily on leg presses,barbell rowws were replaced by lying barbell rows which removes any possible cheating from the movement,db rows,became db rows with head supported on a 40 degree incline bench,etc.etc.

          Use your better judgement when you decide to get back in there.

          I`ve been training a long time and can usually train around an injury,but you really have to be careful.

          My back was so bad,I had to lasso my foot with my underwear in the morning to get them on,and have my wife put on my socks and tie my shoes!!

          reverse hyperextensions,rebuilt my back in a fairly quick time period........if you have access to a reverse hyper machine,when you are able,take full advantage of it,great tool for rehabbibg the back.

          I`m still not at 100% but can actually squat again.

          Good luck bro,and use your head when you start training again.......be extra careful,and if anything hurts excessively,avoid it like the plague.

            I've tore up my back tons of times. I always take off 2 weeks, just to recover fully. Since you have a woman, have her give you massages in the injured area. I usually have my lady do it, and she rubs hard so the lactic acid gets pushed out. She usually rubs on some Tiger Balm. Just take it easy for awhile. Don't rush back too soon, it's just not worth it.

              my husband has been seeing a chiropractor for the past couple of weeks because of a nagging lo back and legt hip pain. they xrayed him and it wasnt pretty. left hip was about an inch higher, inch more forward, and cocked backwards about 20 degrees more than the left. this wa in turn screwing his left knee up, and forcing disks to compress in his lower back. he feels better already....but still is pissed because he can't pull more tha 5 off the floor, lol. he's got "bigarexia" so bad, lol....6ft. 260# and thinks he's shrinking by he day, lol.
              GO TO A CHIRO. AND GET XRAYED.....it's cheap, and they can see if there is any damage more serious than just muscular.

                            u need to see a chiropractor pronto dude. i tweaked my back last year .going to the chiro helped also made me realize that my body was actually out aligned which gives u a greater chance of tweaking ur back or other injuries......pain killers help but remember they only mask the pain it doesnt fix the prob......good luck!!
