Did he see a doctor? What grade level tear is it (1, 2 or 3)? Can you elaborate more on the specifics of the tear? How, when, what, where etc? No PT setup with the doctor?

he had an mri that showed the tear. dont know about grade level. i think he did it over time, shoveling, home repair. the dr was giving it some heal time..but i wonder....when to start PT.

Tammy, I could very easilsy give you exercises to do for rehab but if he's under a doctors care why not just call the doctor and say "what's going on with my dad's injury"? Ask questions and find out, you have a right. Find out and get back to me and we can go from there. I wish you luck, I can't imagine it's a pleasure getting older and watching your body fall apart.

              Tammy,

He's much better off under the guise and supervision of the PT's. Once he starts using it again he'll regain some ROM and be his old happy self again. While age can slow down your recovery it will not hinder it, so be rest assured that under the right supervision he WILL get better. Use it or lose it. Glad you are on the right track. Good luck with that.
