  • A New Focus

Well before Worlds I had a bad squatting accident that retore my bad shoulder and tore my rebuilt shoulder...and some ligaments were damaged in my knee.

Pretty much reserved to no more competing which blows.

    Still rehabing self.

At 40 I just want to be healthy although mentally per my conversations with Dave Tate and Jim Wendler, I just have to weather this storm.

Training is 6 days a week but low volume. I respond pretty well to a little here and there with my training verses the longer sessions. So since I have no idea to ever compete again just going through my paces while enjoying training as much as I possibly can. Once grad school starts I can focus on that a little more as well.

Just keep training in one form or another, never give up. Problems can be worked around and age is really just a number. All the best Shawn, JIM.

2 new shoulders and a knee would be awesome!

True enough. Had my down days but still trying to work around things. Hopefully I heal up to even 80%.

Shoulder was hurting on the bicep work. Have to really focus on keeping my arm own. When it floats out it pops out. Sort of awkward to curl. All in all a good session. Managed to push myself fairly heavy although the ez curl bar with a close grip really hurt my wrists. Triceps were awesome. Pushed it hard. Adding weight to the stack on pushdowns is a cool feeling. Lots of ice last night and today.

                              Shoulders later tonight.
