  • Couldn't agree more. I do pics, weigh in & measurements every three months.

This type of sport has taken getting used to...coming from a running background, I never lifting or worried about diet to such a specific degree, all I did was run and run

Getting into this has really opened up my mind in regards to nutrition and weight training. Thankfully I still have my base from 8 years of running and still have the mental side down pat since you have to be a bit mental to run long distance...

    • I'm a "reformed" 800 Meter specialist. With my current who the hell knows what is going on with my left knee situation, I can't run at all so have been logging more time on the elliptical than I care to.

      • LOL...what's your opinion on the elliptical for cardio? I'm doing cardio 50/50 on the treadmill & stationary bike.

        • I like it. It's good for no-impact work and there's several drills that I run on the thing that are brutally effective. What I don't like is what I call "elliptical leg" which is the goofy, disorganized walk that I suffer from when I first get off of it. It's just like when you take roller skates off.

Superset: Pec Deck Flys: 1x10, Hammer Bench: 1x10
Pec Deck Flys: 1x9(80) - Hammer DB Bench Press: 1x10(35)
Pec Deck Flys: 1x8(80) - Hammer DB Bench Press: 1x8(35)
Pec Deck Flys: 1x6(80) - Hammer DB Bench Press: 1x7(35)
Pec Deck Flys: 1x5(80) - Hammer DB Bench Press: 1x6(35)

                  Flys: 9,7,5(30)

                  Standing Bar Press: 15,14(30,40), 6,6,5(50)

Upright Barbell Delt Rows: 1x15(50), 7,6,5(80)

                  Abs
                  Supersets:
                  Bench Reverse Crunch: 23,19,22
                  ***Cable Crunch: 21,17,19(100)

I increased my weight on the 5x5 on the DB Bench, finally moving over to the big boy db rack

The rest of the exercises, I increased weight on some and reps on others. Over all a great workout, on the Pec Deck Flys my weigh remained the same from last week, but reps decreased. The reason being I focused very hard on keeping my chest and head back and keeping open hands as I squeezed together and then slowly released. Got a much better pump from that.

I'll keep the weight static for next week when I should be able to max out my reps on all exercises and then increase weight two weeks from now.

I'm starting to feel a little plateau in regards to increasing weight. I may only be able to bump up weight ever other week, but now I know for sure I'll have to really focus mentally so I can keep gaining.

                    • Very nice progress! If your form is good, don't worry about the plateau because the gains will start again. You are straight KILLING IT right now!
