    • 230 today. Arms finally catching back to where they were at 19 cold. 18 7/8's this morning cold. This was after some very light shoulder training. DB laterals only




      Should be back into the 19s soon. Has been an extra challenge with all these strains. Can only do triceps pressdowns now for triceps. Hit 200 for 45 strict reps with cambered bar pressdowns the other night. Could have hit a few more but joints start to burn after that point

      • Hit 19 again the other night on arms. So progress is moving in the right direction. Also hit 234.5. Very close to 240 now. Its still very early in my bulking period. By the end of this year and early next year should definately have added some significant size.

        • Unfortunately this is about all I can do for legs lately. Knees and hamstrings been fucked up. Next month Ill try to work some presses back in though. Legs are back to a little over 28 despite this type of training. Even this hasnt been weekly. I am trying to do atleast something like this weekly now, to atleast maintain.

          Reps werent taken to complete failure. I also didnt use extensive rest pause to extend sets. This is to give my knees a break. Last week my knee popped a little with 240 for reps. This time I didnt have any issues but I decided to keep it that way. My strategy now overall is more focused on consistancy then straight overkill. Its not the full vent that I like to unleash but it also is better then extended periods of time out from training. So I am willing to work on restraining my intensity to some degree, for now:


          (230 lbs after meal on powerhouse scale, frequent sleep between meals)

          • Some lighter chest today. More bodybuilding style overall. Controlled. Was going to skip smith machine presses for a while to let shoulders heal. Shoulders felt ok today. Last week did hammer strength inclines only. Strength still increased some regardless

                • Hit 237 last night fully stuffed. Very close to 240 now. Should hit that soon. 250 possibly this year. At the rate ive been gaining. To put it in perspective, I was down to around 210 early may of this year. This was down from 226, which I weighed in august of 2011. So 11 lbs is new. However ive gained 26 lbs since early may. Its still on the rise however

                  I did decide to go back to ballistic back training today. Instead of controlled slow reps. However I strained my shoulder for that choice. Nothing new but will have to train around it like I do everything else

                  • Chest just hit 53 1/4 cold today. Up from previous best of 52 inches last year. Also hit 237 lbs a few days ago.

                    About to go in and train shoulders and arms. Though Im going to try something new. Since I strained my left shoulder bad a few days ago, will be training one side of my body. Right side. Dont think I can do anything for the left side today. Later this week possibly but in worst case I will use hammer strength rows and presses to work only the right side. Id rather try that then take the week off.

                    Its something ive never incorporated before. I have read that traniing one side keeps the other from losing size. Ill try it.

                    • Another new size increase. Arms hit 19 1/4 cold today. Right arm. Left is 18 7/8 cold. First time breaking past the 19 inch mark. I have hit 19 in the past but never surpassed it.

                      For many years I struggled within the 18 to 19 inch range on arms. It shifted do to injuries. I hit 18 3/4 for the first time in late 2004. Then i took myself out of training for 2 fucking years. Lost over 50 lbs and arms went down to 15 1/2. Started over. Afterwards many back and forth struggles even once I got back up around that size and bigger. The rest of my body grew but arms hardly would.

                      So its a good start so early in my bulking cylce. 20 inch is a possibility soon for sure

                        • Anybody notice a huge strength increase in hammerstrength presses, one side presses only?

                          Huge strength increase from what I normally do with both sides at same time. May be a good technique for those looking to overload thier chest. Something to think about

                          Hammer Strength Incline Presses: (3/4 reps very close to lockout today)

                          Right side training only

                          90x47 warm (ballistic style until noted)

                          205x18 (this is where the reps started getting higher compared to pressing both sides simultaneously)
                          225x13
                          250x6 (Added a 25 lb plate hung by rope, 5 plates per side was sufficient last time I trained both sides)
                          250x4
                          180x6 (slow reps)
                          160x6 (slow reps)
                          135x6-7 (slow reps)

                          20 mins cardio






                          Must be due to the leverage of possibly being able to get under the handle deeper one handed, and fact that the load is only half. I wasnt expecting to be so much stronger doing one side at a time

                          Left shoulder still beat up. Next week possible do presses normally. Next up is one side back training. Only issue is it does seem to twist my spine more, especially with the ruptured disks in upper spine. So have to watch that shit
