1-23-09 Friday Biceps,Rear Delts, Abs (15 mins cardio)

Biceps didnt start to feel any strain today until the end of the routine. So took advantage of that, hit it hard and high volume. Went lighter on the hammers towards the end since they were getting some strain by that point. Left elbow still giving me some sharp pain, mainly on the rear delt machine.

When I hit triceps itll likely be an issue as well. :

      (190lbs)

Alternating Dumbbell Curls: (Biceps less strained. Varying rest periods)

      35x15
      70x15 (Possible PR)
      85x8
      90x5
      100x2
      65x11
      60x5
      45x11

      Barbell Curl:

      95x15
      135x17
      185x1

Dumbbell Hammer Curls: (Biceps a little strained so went light)

      60x15
      70x10
      65x10

Pin Loaded Preacher Curl Machine: (Prefer free weight and dropsets, but working around strains)

      130x35
      150x17
      150x15

      Double Biceps Style Cable Curls:

      90x25 (weight is per side)
      100x15
      110x15

      Reverse Machine Flies:

      143x15
      187x15
      220x15

      Maximum Decline Sit-Ups:

      25 +45lb Plate on chest
      37
      25

      15 mins cardio

Appreciate that sht!! Yea my upper body tends to appear pretty lean. Im always bulking, never trying to lean, but Ive added fiber, stimulants (for energy in the gym) and 15 mins cardio on training days (low intensity). These things probably contribute to the leanness, or atleast the appearence. Abdominals are not that lean.

Even before I used fiber, stims frequently and cardio, I always stayed fairly lean. Especially considering all the junk I ate at one time to get to my largest.

I dont think Im too far off from my old size now, but some measurements are difficult to guage. Everytime I measure my back/chest circumference it comes up different. Pictures help though.

Yea, Ive learned to work around injuries now. I dont take any lay offs unless Im really fucked. Theres a large variety of exercises to choose from, and all of them can be hit hard and heavy in time. I worked my way up to those heavy dumbbell raises, originally, as a way to avoid pressing movements for shoulders. At the time pressing movements put real bad stress on my upper spine (where my disks ruptured). In time I got these quite strong and heavy, and its been bringing up my delts. Now I do heavy pressing and laterals. Able to do most exercises again now. Though I still tweak things and only do what feels right.

Great journal, WB. And "ouch" on the ruptured disks. I work around aches and pains but that's some serious injury you're working around. My younger brother had successful back surgery, but a friend of mine got totally screwed by his surgery. I go to the chiropractor regularly, but still have some issues.

                                Anyway, keep killin it!
