    Anyway, keep killin it!

Appreciate it. Yea I have a bunch of strains too. The ruptured disks dont bother me as much now. Now its the hernia tinges, elbows, shoulders, bicep strain and things like that , that Im working more around. It took a while for that to be the case though. I avoided surgery and just rehabbed myself. Doctors and therapists basically all told me I was fucked , never to lift again ,etc. Especially cuz I couldnt find information on it, in regards to lifting weights, since it is rare to rupture the upper disks between the blades.

    KEEP KILLIN THAT SHIT!!

man, you do a ton of volume! I was looking back at one of your chest days... 27 sets!
shows there is more than 1 way to skin a cat I guess.
I worked up to 1 working set on flat bench
then worked up to 1 working set of overheads
then 1 working set of inc HS presses
My big pressing day comprised of only 3 working sets today!
You ever try the lower volume thing?

ThanX brother! KILLIN EM AND GRILLIN EM!! I cant say Ive ever tried much low volume training. Ive always had such a bitch of a time gaining any kind of size or strength that it seems I really have to GRIND THAT SHIT into the core of the earth, tear myself apart to get any type of result. Especially the more Ive advanced. Alot of people use this fucking hardgainer bullshit excuse. I was 105lbs when I started. Took super fucking long, but it can be done. No fucking excuses to get to fucking work, embrace the brutality. Dont leave feelin like you couldve KILLED THAT SHIT more. These have always been the ideas that I train by.

Ive seen your journal and obviously the low volume shit has been working for you. Have you ever tried high volume? Might change up your adaption and kick that shit into overdrive.TRAIN OR FUCKIN DIE!!

          1-29-09 Chest,Shoulders,Abs. (15 mins cardio)

Please do not laugh at the following disgraceful routine below. You laugh, you die. My fucking brain is very sensitive to sound right now. You do not want to fucking cross that line.

Hit some all time PR's today, and one other post injury PR. Four PR's. So it was a good day overall. I did 5x5 with 300, completed it, but did it my way. I did that shit after 4 sets to failure, and also I counted it because it was 25 reps within 5 sets, but not 5 reps per set. Good enough for me. So onto 305 next week. Closing in on 40 rep with 225 and 20 with 275. Whats been working for me is to blast the shit out piston like, short of lockout for 34 reps, then lockout the last 4. So next time Ill try and hit 35 or more before locking em out. Similiar tactic with 275. With 300 I did some of them short of lockout as well when I hit 7. The rest of the sets were basically full reps:

          (193lbs after some water)

          Flat Bench Press:

          135x20
          225x38 (2 rep PR. All-time)
          275x18 (1 rep PR. All-time)
          315x4
          315x4

5X5 Routine: (Completed my way. 25 reps within 5 sets. Not done fresh)

300x7 (1 rep PR. Post injury only)
          300x7
          300x4
          300x4
          300x3

          __________

          225x18
          185x47

          Incline Hammer Strength Press:

          270x18 1/2
          360x3
          320x5 1/2

          Wide Chest Hammer Strength Press:

          270x10
          360x6 1/2

          Seated Machine Flies:

          210x25
          250x16
          305x10

          Push Ups:

70 (One rep all time PR. Always do these at the end though)

          Pin Loaded Shoulder Press:

          295x37
          295x15
          295x13

          Dumbbell Shoulder Presses:

          90x5

          Dumbbell Shoulder Laterals:

          45x30

          Dropset:

          70x12
          60x8

          (no rest)

          Front Dumbbell Raises:

          55x12
          65x8

Four sets of heavy weighted abdominal crunches: 20-35 rep

          15 mins cardio

1-30-09 Triceps and abs (15 mins cardio)

A few PR's. Didnt go full extention on all the reps with pressdowns, to keep strain off the left elbow, but very close and squeezed a few out full extention. Reason for lack of variety and lack of my favorite exercise for triceps, skull crushers is due to elbow strain and also missing equipment from the gym. No cambered bar for pressdowns, just V-bar, small straight and rope. Only v-bar and cambered dont fuck with my wrists.

Was going to hit biceps as well but they are still strained from other training so avoided it for now. :

                  (190lbs)

Alternating Dumbbell Curls: 35x15 (warm up then decided against it)

                  V-Bar Pressdowns:

                  90x15
                  130x15
170x15 (no rest on first three sets)
                  --------
                  200x35 (PR. Stack)
                  245x12 (45 pinned to stack)
                  245x16 (PR)
                  245x10
                  245x9
                  200x16

                  Pin Loaded Dip Machine:

                  165x15
                  265x15
                  265x20

Four sets of heavy kneeling rope crunches up to 225 for 10 reps, other sets 15-25 rep.

                  15 mins cardio

Yea I used to be really fuckin stubborn. Didnt give a fuck about pain signals and shit. Ruptured two disks just by ignoring the pain and taking scorching hot showers. That set me back over four years though. So Ive learned to adapt. Shit is mostly adaption these days and not fully planned. Very instinctual.

Appreciate that shit!! Yea I think those first two sets are definately taking away from my 315 set. My best in the last 4 years, post injury, with 315 is only 5 reps. In the past my best was 315x12. Ive been hitting PR's pretty consistantly on those first two sets though, so Ive been leaving them in for now. Im using the 5x5 routine to build up my ability with 300+ for reps, and hopefully get my reps back with 315 this year.

Youll get there. You got the right attitude.

2-2-02 Monday Back (15 mins cardio)

Hit some PR's today. Was able to do dumbbell rows again without too much shoulder strain, though I limited them to 180lbs this time. My left shoulder didnt give me any problem this time, but my right had a little pain, and that arm had more bicep strain, so took a few reps off. Just did some low volume back work. Some strain in my lower back towards the end and only 3 hours to train. Got in late. :

                              (192lbs)

                              Wide Grip Chin-ups:

                              33 (one rep PR)
                              6 +35lb
                              8 +25lb

(One arm Dumbbell Row: 100x30 (warm up)

                              15
                              10
                              9

                              One Arm Dumbbell Rows:

160x15 (right arm) 160x22 (2 rep PR, left arm)
180x12 (right arm) 180x15 (left arm)
180x10 (right arm) 180x16 (left arm, 6 rep PR)

                              Low Cable Pulley Rows:

                              190x22 (PR)
                              250x10
                              285x6 (35 pinned to stack)

Individual Lat Pulldowns: (done both at same time)

                              198x15
                              220x15
                              220x10

                              (15 mins cardio)

I have been lurking in the darkness..... watching, waiting, anticipating the Walking Beast's return..... He has felt the pain of ruptured discs, the love that has come and gone, and the tension and frustration that has not allowed him to destruct and re-construct his limbs and torso because of injury to his body and mind........he is now a different person, a different being if you may.

I have heard of this Beast, but I do not believe that he is what the others claim him to be. Some will not even speak his name, like saying Candyman in front of the mirror 3 times, but I seek the truth. I am getting restless, uncomfortable, and curious. Am I where I should be? Is there even a Walking Beast I wonder? Then, out of no where I hear this incredible scream that shakes the very foundation of my being. Every breathe, every movement I make now has my complete attention. I experience sensory overload as I notice that this place has no rules, boundaries, or conscience. I have never been in a place like this before and nor do I want to return for I can see everything that no one wants to see. No one that leaves here is ever the same again I assume. I hope that I get to leave this place is all that I can think about...

He is approaching behind me, breathing fast and uncontrolled. I hear his heart beat as he gets closer..... do I run? Do I turn around and face the Beast not knowing what images I will see that will scar my soul? Do I stand my ground among this Beast and try to earn his respect as I hope he cannot see the terrible terror and fear in my eyes. I decide to turn and face the Walking Beast. For if he is a mere mortal like me he will bleed when cut, sufficate without air, burn when put to flames.

I turn around. I am amazed and horrified at the same time. I realize now I should have ran while I could, but its too late. With my last breathes I see a BEAST in all his dreadful glory. His eyes red and filled with rage, his tears are made from the blood of the weak. He walks completing surround by fire and the louder he speaks the louder the fire roars from his being. He is not a mere mortal and as he takes mine from me I realize that I am one of the many that feed this monster. The monster within all of us, The Walking Beast.
