  • 9-10-09 Thursday Legs

2 AM training session. Testing the new equipment at 24 hour gym. Leg press is much tighter feeling and better it seems. Easier as a result and maxes at 1200 lbs. Calve raise is fuckin horrible and couldnt get my legs under it right.

Low volume and maintenance mostly for now.:

(195 lbs after meal and milk, different scale, new gym)

    Leg Press:

    500x40
    800x55
    1000x45
1200 (unracked but pop in shin, so went back lighter for now)
    900x50

    Leg Extentions:

    100x25
    190x25
    250x25
    305x25

Not taken to failure but getting a feel for new equipment

    KILL THAT SHIT

Did not feel like getting random spots today. Lifting off always fucks up my positioning on the bench. So stuck to incline machine mainly.:

          (195 lbs after meal)

Flat Bench press: (CLose to full range reps)

          135x20 (warm)
225x36 (no lift off or spotter, bad positioning on bench)

          Hammer Strength Incline Press:

          270x30
          360x13
          450x2 1/2
          410x4 1/2
          360x12
          360x12 1/2
          360x11

              • 9-14-09 Monday Back and Traps

Some light maintenance. This new gym seems much worse for back training. The tbar row is too close grip. The 300lb stack is too long and cant get it down. Cant add plates either. Machines dont feel as good and feel easier too. Missing the Hammer Strength Iso Low Row and shitty CURVED chin up bars.

Im not sure about my bodyweight and measurement now. All my tools are fucked up from moving. My scales keep breaking and my tapes are creased. Also since I switched gyms this scale immediately had me lighter. So Im not sure about that shit right now :

                (191 lbs before meals)

                T-Bar Rows:

                135x25
                180x15
                205x12

                Lat Pulldowns:

                195x30
                255x15
                270x12
                285x12

(Couldnt use 300lb max because stack is too long)

Low Cable Rows : (Same issue with 300 lb stack on this machine too)

                195x15
                255x15
                285x10

Iso High Row: (No low row available)

                180x15
                270x15
                360x10

Wide Grip Chin Ups: (Shitty curved chin up bar)

                14
                10
                12

Dumbbell Shrugs: (Not heavy barbell cuz of back strains last few days)

                120x35
                120x30
                120x30

                • looks good Beast, you'll adjust to the new gym, be spontaneous, use the low cable adjustment for your rows with your feet on a 45lbs plate, looks like a strong day.

Back Strain, oh man never had that problem, lol

                      I did 225 for 17 the other day. I weighed 213.

When you press, is your range of motion similar to mine?

I am in the green shirt.

                        Strict and slow. Nice lifting

Very much unlike me. My form is fast ballistic, slammed into my chest, and not locked at the top til the end.

                        KEEP KILLIN THAT SHIT!!

Not bad. Occasionally got to take some days off and regenerate my spine. I will most likely be in there tommorrow beginning the full routine with chest. No spotters at the moment most likely so I might have to get creative. Not sure how Ill approach it now.

Yea I get back strains all the time. I dont think they ever go away, but its just based on severity for me, before ill rest it more. With two crushed discs itll always be there.

Never tried that before. Not sure exactly how that is done.

I used to train from 12am to around 7am doing chest sessions with huge rest breaks, massive amounts of coffee and some ephedrine drinks.

Even though Im mostly nocturnal, thats never been a strong time for me to train. I prefer the evenings or afternoon.

My sessions now have become even less volume then in the past, and especially now. All the injuries and shit im dealing with now ontop of that.

Yesterday I decided to get back into eating again though. I let myself lose alot of weight, so its time to start eating again. First step is 2000 calorie shake daily. Four scoops cytogainer, 7 tablespoons peanut butter, 16 oz milk, 2 tablespoons olive oil with some extra glutamine thrown in. That always helps, especially when appetite is non existant. Plus half a gallon of milk and whatever I can eat.

Heres a link to my old journal pre injury (maybe 5 years ago) which was more extreme in some ways. Though it would vary depending on the time period. Some very unconventional shit in there though.

Thank you for checking the journal
