    Maybe it's all mental.

    I think I'm lifting too heavy and not squeezing the muscle or working the muscles. I think I need lift lighter. Still heavy but lighter.

    And more cardio.

    But until my shoulder heals I'm limited in what I can do and the heavy labor at work isn't helping that.

    • Hey J. When I am trying to avoid injury, I always go lighter and squeeze at peak contraction and get a great workout. I seldom get injured with this type of approach. Good luck!

        If you don't have any big goals, maybe it is time to find some. That always makes me kick my training up a notch.

          • Like you said, just knock up the cardio a few notches and work on that mind-muscle connection. Lowering the weights to do that isn't always a bad idea. You could prioritise your aerobic conditioning for a month or work on really hammering your legs, there's plenty of options. Just yell out if you need anything.

              • So one of our front end loader at work wouldn't kick over when the operator was trying to start it and I punched the side of it and said "come on you piece of shit. Fly or die!" and it started. Pretty awesome.

                        Chest some delts

                        I did some light pressing. Flat went well. I made sure to go slow and squeeze and all that business. I did incline db presses after that and man!!, my right shoulder was/is tight! I almost had to pull the DBs down. But it loosened up and I not went up to 25s. Actually felt the upper pecs getting pumped. Pretty awesome. I have discovered that I have been pretty much lifting for my ego. Big Surprise there huh?

                            • I got some good news about work actually. I'll fill you in later. But the fly or die quote is from Commando when the sea plane won't start. Arnold his the control panel and says that, then the engines start.
