Yeah, honestly, for some reason I believe Michael Locket is, and has always been natural. The dude walks around with shredded glutes 24/7. He is a freak.

Your chest is thick man, throws me off. Most natties look like they eat nothing but string beans all day. My chest is ok, but it definitely not as thick as yours.

What are your stats? Height and weight?

I am just discovering you, so am curious.

    Thanks for the response.
Yeah, my chest gets quite alot of attention for sure. It was horrible when I began lifting, but I discovered exactly how to position my body for pec exercises to really get to it, and then it grew like a weed!

As for my stats, I am 5'11" and I stay at about 245 lbs offseason and do photo shoots at about 220 and compete at around 214 or so. Although, I am competing again this year after a 2-year hiatus and could actually be heavier this time out.

    Thank you for the compliments.

See, you are starting trouble Sho!!!!!

oh crap! YES I AM JUST KIDDING!!!! Take it from me (the chick who trains with Eric EVERY SINGLE DAY) that Eric's waist is tiny!!! He was just telling me the other day how he has had to poke more holes in his weight belt because his waist is getting so small!! Plus, I have some photos to prove it, although he won't allow me to post them.

p.s. Sorry Eric for stirring up trouble. Was not my intentions, was just simply a playful joke.

Impossible to make a universal statement about this, but 90 minutes would be maximum, with 75 minutes being even better.

Isn't there is research that suggest 45-50 minutes should be tops. I have not read the reseach article so I cannot comment on this but some people try to make you believe if you are in the gym for more than 50 minutes you are wasting away.

Personally I have a hard time getting my workout squeezed into anything less than a hour, usually 1.25hrs, so I do what works for me. I am glad to see that workouts lasting more than 1hr are still accepted by some

Yes, such research exists, but there has to be some flexibility between each individual. Additionally, I feel that if you are well rested, well fed, and are supplementing properly (during the workout as well...hint, amino acids, glutamine, BCAAs) you can certainly thrive off of workouts that are 75-90 minutes.

              • Great stuff Eric. I should KNOW this, as I needed it to get my cscs and to pass all my ex phys, kineis, sports cond, ,etc... classes, but what are the times from past studies relating to the body's release of test vs. gh vs. cortisol spikes in relation to high intensity exercise?

Most studies I have looked at claim that test/GH levels begin to drop at around the 60 minute mark, while cortisol begins to rise.

However, I feel that if you feed your body WHILE training (along with before and after), you can push this into the 75-90 minute mark. Ingesting quick acting carbs and aminos alone will greatly lower cortisol.

Yeah...well thanks for the insider's tip on pectoral growth bro! My chest is far from a weak point, but i do not have as thisck of pecs as you, but then again you have been training longer than me! Bastard.

I have an ACCUSATION...I mean question...

I have been training naturally for seven years, though I will admit that 6 weeks ago I ended and properly recovered from my first cycle. I have a fair amount of knowledge regarding nutrition and training, and have recently helped a co-worker lose 60lbs in three months, and a 16yo cousin to gain 7 pounds in 8 weeks, whereas before he could not gain a pound. I am a perfectionist when it comes to exercise form, and help others in the gym whenever they are open to it.

That was just some background...how do I educate myself in order to acquire the actual certificates/degrees in order to do this full/part-time?

What sort of education have you acquired?

I understand some people recieve degrees in kinesiology, but I am perhaps a year or two from choosing a major as I work full time, and take classes at night.

I know this is a lengthy, and fairly open ended question, I appreciate anything you can offer up!

Sorry to everyone for the colossal entry.

My University degree is in psychology, but I also have a strong schooling background in physiology, anatomy, biology, and kinesiology.

I also have certifications through several organizations, with my favorites being those I have acquired through the ISSA, Charles Poliquin and Paul Chek.

You should check out these plus ACE, NASM, and ACSM.
