As for diet, stick with a high protein, low carb, medium fat diet (with alot of healthy fats).

As for training check out my PRRS and FDFS training methods in the training section. They have never failed before. Also, you might want to do a second "mini-workout" each week for your lagging areas.

            • High Reps For Leg Growth

              eric,

how true is it to use high reps for leg growth and low reps for legs will mostly build strength than size , i heard all leg exercises should be done 10 reps or higher due to there fiber content.

                • ABS

also one other queston regurading ab training , im fairly lean (9-10% bf) and i have visable abs , but my problem with my abs is that there very blocky and blug out like little bricks, my upper abs stick out alot they actully make my chest look smaller. you can see my abs clearly but they make my waist look very big , i only train them 2x a week , 4-6 sets every sesion , 3 sets ball crunches and 3 sets leg lifts keeping reps between 20-30 , i stop training my obliques because that made my waist even wider. Should i just stop training my abs in general? maybe cut back to 1 session a week? wanted to hear your opinion on my problem , started reading up on vacums and gonna give them a try.

                  • Hey fast-twitch, I totally understand where you are coming from...im 6'3" 210 with low, low BF but my waist is still 33.5" due to my "brick abs." It is frustrating. I cant wait to hear Eric's response.

My two cents- I just try to avoid hey reps for abs, usually around 20-25 per working set, and then stretch them well afterwards like any other muscle.

To reach your genetic potential you will need to explore all types of rep ranges...3-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-20...and occasionally higher. However, the best "growth range" for legs would likely be in the area of 8-15 for most lifters (if I had to narrow it down).

i hear you on that , might try to up the reps and do the stretching, think im going to train them only once a week and use vacums as well , whats your insight eric?

I would go with stack #2 and use WPI.

If you want to reduce the thickness of your abs then stop training them each week and perhaps just perform a couple of high rep sets once per month to keep them used to fully contracting.

Practice stomach vacuums a little every day to work the transverse abdominals and pull your gut inward.
