  • Anyone Use Wrist Wraps (not straps) For Arm work?

I realize this is not AAS related directly but the more serious lifters tend to post here.

Im referring to wraps for wrist support, not straps to hang more weight off of your limbs. I see people often confuse the two.

I just got a pair of Inzer Z wrist wraps. Its my first time using real wraps , and using them properly. I used them yesterday and went up to 420 lbs on smith inclines expecting my wrists to be worse off the following day. My wrists and hands had some pain before I began the session. Afterwards though my wrists actually feel better and no pain. Just the usual hand numbness ive had for several years.

Does anyone use wraps for tricep and bicep work? Or anything else? What about elbow sleeves. Useful on arms? I only use elbow sleeves for chest along with wrist wraps. My wrists are pretty beat up as mentioned

Thinking of trying them out for my next arm session. Wrists usually flare up towards the end.

    All feedback appreciated

I'll have my wrist wraps on while I train Biceps and Triceps. Especially during CGBP and DB Overhead Extensions. However when I transition into training my Forearms I take them off. That's like wearing a belt while training your core. Counter-productive IMO.

Agreed. I dont do direct forearm work anymore. I just dont use straps and grip whatever I row. My bicep and back work is high volume , heavy to failure for the most part, so I get enough work there.

Ill have to try the wraps with arms in a few days. Appreciate the feedback brother.

      KEEP KILLLLLIN IT!!

Ill try them for arms in a few days. My tricep work is just pressdowns these days. Maybe close grip wouldnt be an issue with the wraps though

When I was PLn I used both... I would only use elbow sleeves for bench and triceps. Using them for biceps bothered me... But both can help with pains.

The sleeves I have would be constrictive as fuck with an arm pump so maybe not good. Since they are already a little too tight as is.

Will try the wrist wraps with arms in a few days though

If CGBP's made your wrist's feel a bit bothersome like me, I think it'll relieve a tremendous amount of stress and be a little more comfortable. I just started implementing them back into my routine a few months ago as soon as I started using wrist wraps again.

Nice. Thats the main reason I stopped doing them years ago. So it would be extremely good if I was able to bring back old movements such as CGB and maybe some other movements that fuck with the wrists. Maybe even some curling variations. Ill have to try barbell curls and see if it helps. Those ended up killing my wrists a few years ago.

Im very satisfied with those inzer z wraps though. I am sure they are similiar to other powerlifting wraps out there. After loading up 420 on smith and having no wrist issues the following days , I believe that exceeding 5 plates on the smith will be possible now. My focus is more bodybuilding style for a while but I will be mixing in heavy pressing on certain days. I should be able to hit it heavy more frequently with better wrist support now.

                  Appreciate the feedback

I hear you brother. I had to discontinue old fashioned preacher curls with both straight and EZ bars due to the pain. Lately I've just been adjusting the bench at 80 degrees and hitting one arm DB preacher curls. Not sure if you've done them that way but with the wrist wraps it's pretty much painless. You should look into it, the stability is great. I recorded a set on my arm day a while ago, here's what I mean http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtOzTmnn9jc

Nice. I see you have a similiar pair of wraps on while curling. You have the incline bench just short of an upright position it seems. Never tried curling like that. Im gonna try that in a few days.

I will definately be trying some movements Ive taken out of my arm routine. I only do dumbbell curls for biceps now. For triceps its usually only one type of pressdown. So if I can bring back more variety with the wraps it would be good. Preachers used to be my favorite but then they went into my shoulder joint, elbows and wrists too much.

I use my wrist wraps whenever I feel like I may need them. Wether it be incline press or curls. Sometimes the weight puts my wrist at what I feel like May be a vulnerable angle or position and so on heavy inclines I use wraps. Especially helps with wrist stabilization on some heavy db press work either shoulders or chest. I use a pair of the GASP orange and black and love them.

Nice. Will definately be testing them out on arms tommorrow
