  • Anabolic Diet

    Anyone tried this before?

Seems completely against the grain of how people eat today...

Like high fat, moderate protein, low carbs during weekdays...then completely flips on weekend.

Got PDF if anyone wants it sending

This is a breakdown of it..

    - Part 2 http://www.t-nation....le.do?id=459762

    - Part 1 http://www.t-nation....le.do?id=460968

    Cheers

i have tried it. when i started i was already fat adapt so the transition was easy. a friend of mine has also tried it. i dont like the ups and downs of it during the week was ok, but on the weekend i just felt so lazy and mellow. i think you can refine it to fit your needs so you can enjoy carb foods on the weekend and still stay in shape. one thing i did different was i kept protein higher on the carb days than the diet guidelines dictate. about 35%P 60%F 5%C(fiberus). weekend i would switch up the fat and carb % until i filled up.

summary: i would rather consistently eat low carb with an occasional load day as needed. i eat carbs post workout, the amount changes with the workout.

Those links don't work. message said "unable to resolve domain name". I think that any high fat diet is just going to lead to plaque buildup in your coronary arteries. Everything in moderation is the best way to go. An "anabolic diet" would be liquid pre-digested protein, plenty of BCAAs , glutamine and leucine powder supplements.

I have done it a couple times for a couple months each time and it helps with losing fat pretty quick.. You will look flat as a pancake during the week though. I didn't really have a hard time with the diet, as I ate a shit load of steak/eggs/dark meat chicken/cheese... etc.. be sure to get enough fiber in your diet. Once you start getting your weekend carbs, you will start looking better though. If you have a family, it is definitely a pain in the ass being around them while they grub out some good looking foods during the week. Overall, I think a balanced diet did better for me though.

might want to check your info homie. not trying to talk shit to you just want to make you aware of this. dietery fat actually does not play a negative role on lipids. in fact its the opposite. fats are either neutral or beneficial, unless we are talking about Trans fats, stay the fuck away from those. people who eat high fat low carb diets have excellent lipid levels, arterial and metabolic health. they are also lean and can never be a type 2 diabetic. fats especially saturated fats are demonized by mainstream media. when in reality they are great for you. fats and carbs together not so much. when you combine them thats when you get arterial clogging and near instant fat gain

^^ Definitely agree with the post above. Dietary fats play a big role in your body. Like rawberry said, it's when you eat a shit ton of bad fats along side a high carbohydrate diet( This will tend to clog arteries). Your body will burn the carbohydrates and leave the other fats to build up in your arteries. Where as, if you are on a low carb diet and higher "good" fats, your body will primarily burn the fats for energy before they are stored. This is coming from dr. Mauro pisquale.

the diet may have been invented by a real smart dude. But fact of the matter is, in real life, it blows.

I think it is useful to do the first 12 days without carb to get used to it, if you're planning to follow a low carb diet.

Ritch, I agree that it sucks to some degree. I would definitely not try and gain with this diet, but it will lean you out pretty quick. Any diet without carbs and you will look stringy as hell in a couple weeks..

Plenty of people have done a lot for bodybuilding, but that doesn't mean I'm going to follow anything they come up with.
