BW is steadily increasing despite me cutting back my macro calorie and carb intake. I attribute this to the HALO and Deca-drol...it's the only thing it could be. I am up about 5lbs from last week's average BW. Can't wait to see how my pressing strength is tonight when I train chest.

    12/5/11 Legs
    AM BW: 215.6lbs
AM Cardio: 4 miles brisk walking/50 minutes time

    Quad Extension Warm-ups
    100 x 20 x 3

Barbell Back Squats, wide stance/toes out, as low as I can go
    135 x 10
    185 x 10
    205 x 10
    225 x 10

Note on depth: This is the absolute lowest i can go without fear of toppling over. Even squatting with no weight, the entire movement just feels extremely awkward, always has always will. My body structure will simply not allow me to go any lower but i will continue to work on my technique. Regardless, my legs were toast after the 4 sets of squats. I know in a few weeks I will be repping 315 x 10 with relative ease, just want to make sure I can keep my form. Any suggestions/advice (tJoe) are greatly appreciated.

Life Fitness Pin Loaded Leg Press, narrow stance/toes out

Barbell squats become more of a lower back exercise for the people with long legs. Add to that not enough coordination and barbell squats are nearly useless. Try hacks and smith machine squats. I bet you will feel a lot more in the legs, with a lot less strain on the back

Thanks man... I train legs 2x a week and I do hacks as my primary exercise during session #2. I never liked smith machine squats but have used them in the past.

Looking good man! What kind of diet are you following? And why so much cardio?

Thanks bud. I'm clean bulking and trying to keep BF% below 10% at all cost. I just don't like the way I look when I get over 10% and my goal is to stay within 4 weeks prep for contest conditioning. Diet consists of chicken breast, lean ground turkey, white rice, broccoli, egg whites, whole omega 3 eggs, oatmeal, flax seed oil, peanut butter, rice cakes, 2% milk, whey protein, apples and bananas. I have one cheat meal on Saturday night with my Wife which also includes a few brewskis. Macro wise I WAS running 3500-4000 cals/120 fats/225 carbs/300 protein but I've scaled that back to 3000-3500 cals/120 fats/150-200carbs/260-280 protein. I don't want to get any heavier and the HALO/Deca-drol cycle is making it easy to put on weight.

With the exception of the Racks, I chose to do an all machine/cable session. I typically alternate an all machine/cable back session with an all barbell/dumbbell session every other week. No cardio yesterday thanks to rain in the morning and short on time in the evening. Macro intake was down though to off set the lack of cardio.

            12/7/11 Back/Traps

            No PM Cardio
            PM BW: 216.5lbs

Notes: BW seems to have settled in right around a tight 215lbs mark: 2011-12-08_07-41-40_89_crop.jpg 2011-12-08_08-20-18_52_crop.jpg I have gained about 5lbs since starting the HALO/Deca-drol cycle last Friday (6 days into 30 day cycle) and 215-220 at this level of conditioning is the heaviest I want to get. I feel that if needed, I could be contest ready in less than 4 weeks and that is exactly how I want to keep it. Definitely have added some leg mass and thickness to my delts/chest thanls to my post-contest rebound. I am currently 39 days post competition.

Last night was a weird training night in that it was supposed to be a delt/abs cardio night but since I am refraining from pressing and any heacvy DB lateral movements, I had to improvise. Still feeling aches in the shoulder and it's royally pissing me off. I swear sleeping aggravates it just as much as pressing...

              20 x 20
              20 x 20

              40 x 20
              50 x 15

Eliptical 30 minutes averaging 90-110 RPM, got a great sweat going.
              PM BW: 216.5lbs

Notes on HALO/Deca-drol Cycle - Day 6 of 30 complete and I am experiencing pretty severe back pumps which can only be attributed to the cycle. Going to have to get some taurine today to supplement because my walk this morning was brutal thanks to the extreme pumps in my lower back. This also happened during both of my Super DMZ cycles so I know the Halo and Deca-drol are kicking in. Hopefully I will see a nice up kick in strength this upcoming training week.

Yea, I was supposed to but I figured the light cable/db work would be ok...nothing doing.

Halo/Deca-drol notes: Back pumps have been insane the last couple days. I picked up some taurine on Friday and have been takng 2,000-3,000mgs/day since. Seems to have improved a little bit, we'll see how it feels when I squat tonight. There is no doubt that my muscles look and feel "full" and tight. There is a bit of water retention in my face and abdominal area but nothing too bad. The pumps i experienced on Saturday morning during my arm session were incredible...to the point of painful actually. Very reminiscent of my very first injectable cycle of Nandrolone Decanoate and Winstrol back in 2001. Strength seems to be holding up well even though I am training primarily for bodybuilding/hypertrophy. I am not pushing for maximum poundages on anything right now so it's tough to really say if strength has increased. Overall, I am now a full 10 days into the 30 day cycle and liking the results thus far.

I have officially retired from squatting for good...and I mean it this time. My knees and lower back just simply can't handle it anymore. After a 3 year lay-off from squatting I recently worked squats back into my routine but it just isn't working out. Also, I am in the process of scheduling an MRI for my shoulder. After a very painful bench session last Tuesday, I made the decision to take a week or two off from doing any pressing and lateral movements and unfortunately the pain seems to have gotten worse. I think my bed (tempurpedic) is further aggravating the injury because during the day the resting pain seems to diminish but i hav a hell of time sleeping due to the pain and by morning I can barely lift my arm. i've had issues with my shoulders/rotators before but this is a whole other animal. Before the pain only showed up when training, now it is constant. Almost like a pinched nerve or some shit...fuckin' sucks! I was on schedule to take a shot at 420 on the flat bench today but that obviously has been put on hiatus...

So despite having to improv my chest/forearm session last night to account for the injured shoulder, I still managed to put together a very nice workout and achieved a pretty sick pump much to my surprise.

HALO/Deca-drol notes: Day 11 of 30 complete. Continuing to notice increased pumps and vascularity throughout the day is very good. Got a SICK pump last night in my arms and chest despite only doing pushups and some forearm exercises. It felt as though I did a full barbell and dumbbell chest session...the pump was that good. So far I am liking this stuff. It is not nearly as potent or strong as the Super DMZ in terms of strength increase (for obvious reasons) but it is definitely giving me increased pump and enhanced vascularity and hardness which is exactly what we all strive for as bodybuilders.
