With the exception of the HS plate loaded shrug and elevated platform T-bar rows, no machines were used last night for the meat and potatoes of my back training session. From now on I will alternate 1 session which comprises all BB, DB and BW training movements and then the following week a session that is all machines and cable work. In the past I did both machine/cable work mixed with barbell/dumbbell in one session but I think the week of strictly machine and cable work will give my joints a much needed rest and allow me to attack the compound movements with greater intensity. I will still do rack deads however on the cable/machine days.

    12/14/11 Back/Traps
AM BW: 215.4lbs (right where I want to be)
    No AM cardio

Rack Deadlifts (pulling from 4th pin, just below knee)
    135 x 10
    225 x 10
    315 x 5
    405 x 5
    495 x 3
550 x 6 (would have had more but I lost my grip on the 6th rep)

    "Arnold" Strict Barbell Rows
    135 x 15
    185 x 12
    205 x 10
225 x 10 drop set to 135 x 10 (big lower back pumps thanks to the racks so I didn't want to sacrifice form to go heavier on these. Kept things very strict and squeezed the hell outta my lats. MUCH MORE effective than going heavy and heaving the weight ala Dorian/Cutler style IMO)

Elevated Platform T-Bar Rows (since lower back was toast, went super light on these for reps and squeezed the hell out of my back at the top of each rep, burned like hell!)
    135 x 20
    135 x 15
    135 x 10

    Wide Grip Chins
    BW x 8
    BW x 8

    Narrow Neutral Grip Chins
    BW x 8
    BW x 8

    DB Pullovers
    80 x 15
    90 x 12
    100 x 10

    HS Plate Loaded Shrug
    135 x 25
    225 x 20
    315 x 20

    No PM cardio
    PM BW: 216lbs

Cycle Notes: Day 12 of 30 complete. Unbelievable muscle pumps in my arms/lats/forearms last night. Definitely have the feeling of being "on" something, without a doubt. I feel that I LOOk pretty big right now, bigger than the 215-220lbs I am carrying. The added hardness and definition thanks to my diet/cardio and halo/deca-drol seem to be making for a great lean-bulk combination.

HALO/Deca-drol notes: Today is exactly 14 days into my 30 day cycle. Over the last few days I have noticed a marked increase in libido and I also seem to have broken out a bit with blemishes on my face and shoulder/upper arm area. Nothing bad, just a few minor blemishes here and there. I don't typically break out and my diet stays consistent. I maybe get a zit once every other month or so. This leads me to believe that this is caused by the HALO/Deca-drol, only logical conclusion I can come up with. Leg session #2 for this week is tonight and then looking forward to smashing arms early tomorrow morning. Hoping to get some video to post on Monday...

          DB SLDL...

Halo-Deca-drol notes: Nothing really to report...I am 16 days into my 30 day cycle and did not train arms on Saturday morning due to a request by my Wife to take it off to let my shoulder heal. Still have discomfort and mild pain in the rear delt and probably will refrain from pressing and lateral movements once again this week. Still waiting for my MRI appointment to be scheduled.

Looking good man. I bet your shoulder issue is bone spurs. I had the same thing and had surgery to clean the joint out and it feels great now. Only was down for 3-4 weeks after surgery. Well worth it.

I was having issues with my shoulder, couldnt bench or press but everything else was ok, so I went and got an MRI. The dr said I had an impingement on my rotator cuff and that he was 80% sure I could fix it through rehab but said the other option was surgery. He said they would go in and and shave some bone away from the rotator cuff. That didnt sound like a good idea to me! I took some advice from some other people and found a massage thearapist in a chiropractor office (covered under co-pay), it worked great! It hurts like hell when she was diggin in my shoulder but payed off after the 1st visit. After a few weeks my shoulder was very good and I could start benching heavy again. I can actually do military press now and I havent been able to do those for years. May not work for everyone but it worked for me and never really had to stop lifting.

              Good log and good luck!
My job allows me to break shit without consequences or repercussions!!

^^ that therapy stuff didn't work for me. I had the same thing - impingement of the supraspinatus (i.e. bone spurs). It's easy surgery.

Either that or tendonitis would be best case scenario. I would hate to find out that I have a torn rotator cuff or something along those lines. Thank you all for the support!

On another note...snapped a few photos this morning. Weighing in at 214.6lbs:

                      50 x 12
                      50 x 10

Eliptical (grey machine) 15 minutes 80-95 RPM. Was supposed to be 30 minutes but my pecs kept crampiong up making it very difficult to get into a rythm so I cut it short at 15 minutes.

Cycle notes: Despite doing little to no weight for my improv chest trainig session, the pump I have been able to achieve is nothing short of amazing. I can only attribute it to the Halo/Deca-drol. I have never had a pec cramp from heavy pressing and flyes, never! So to do some light machines, pushups and cable work and have that pump and then get pec cramps is pretty fucking crazy.

                          good luck man.
my guess is going to be a type 2/stage 2 chromium with partial tears in the rotator cuff.
can be fixed with surgery or therapy. depends on the person, everyone varies.
                          good luck again.

Cycle notes: Day 19 of 30 complete. Lower back pumps still crazy despite supplementation of 3,000mgs/day Taurine. I think this can be attributed to the water retention. When on the Super DMZ, I had bad back pumps but they subsided after the 2 week mark...not the case here with the HALO and Deca-drol.
