I'm feeling pretty good now and will be back at either Team U or nationals next year!

Best of luck to you in September!

Sorry to hear that. That really sucks; especially since you were only a few weeks away.

Actually, I keep my hair looking good all year.

First of all, I cut it myself with either an 8 or 10 on the top and use a 2 or 3 on the side (with a fade up, of course). You'll have to practice a few times to get it right.

Offseason and while dieting, I switch it up between
Garnier Fructis Style Play Style Reshapable Putty, Strong

          and regular gel.

On stage, I go with both the above products, plus a hint of protan.

Just like posing, you should practice doing your hair a few times at home before stepping on stage.

          Good luck!

          • Jeff--

It's very interesting seeing the progress pictures. As someone who has not done what you have, it's really hard to imagine you're going to look any different in 6 weeks.

Having said that, without viewing the pictures, it would have been hard to imagine you changing that much with diet alone.

Looking forward to seeing with the winner's trophy in 6 weeks.

That's amazing Jeff! These remind me of some pics of Dorian published in Flex back in the 90's. You are definitely going to do some major damage this year! Your competition should be very worried!

What do you use for your competition color?

Yeah, I'll make changes; probably about 7-10 pounds more muscle and lower bodyfat to 0%.

I hope that I make some change/s, no matter how minor, for the good in the next 6 weeks. Otherwise, there would be no point in me dieting! Checkout my 12 weeks out pictures compared to 6 weeks out; there was a change. Of course, nothing REALLY drastic will change, but I'm striving to get every last little bit I can.

Also, it will not be ALL diet, I'll do a few cardio session and probably lift weights, too.

                Thanks!

                  Thanks!

For color last year I used a mixture (equal parts) of Protan and Dyoderm. My color was alright, but could have been better. I'd like to try something different this year. I noticed a lot of people whose color I liked had used Jan Tana, so I think I'm going to give that a shot.

I'm thinking of using a few coats of protan for a base, followed by a coat or two of Jan Tana Competition Color.

I'm open to suggestions or comments about color if anyone has any.
Has anyone used the protan with Jan Tana Competition color on top? How about Jan Tana Show Tan with Jan tana Competition color on top?

dream tan can actually look great if you know how to put it on, you have to SLAP it in not rub it in or it will look horrible....in inside the life, tommy jeffers had perfect color and he was all dream tan...

                      • I've seen dream tan look okay, but I don't really like it. It seems really convenient, but I'd rather use something else.

Quelly, I saw the video, and you're right, though, his color looks pretty good.

there are definitely other options...and the slapping method takes A LONG while for the first coat, I mean I spend like 1-2 minutes on each 3-4 inch diameter spot of dream tan to get the skin to really take it in and absorb it....but you only have to put it on the morning of the show and maybe reapply before prejudging and finals...Alberto also used it this year and his color was pretty damn good.

                          • Last year I used Jan Tana Show Tan as a base coat with Dream Tan #2 over it. That combination made me really dark. I like Dream Tan alot easy to put on and evens out well. I do not like Jan Tana Competition Color, its very difficult to put on evenly and can look very blotchy and uneven. I bought some last year and intended to use it over the Show Tan but it looked like I was smearing mud on so I went back to Dream Tan and got super dark. I know some people don't like the Dream Tan but I've gotten really good results with it. Just make sure you use the #2 which is the redish color and not the #1 which is the gold color. I don't care for the way it looks either makes you look like a trophy! lol

Actually I got spray tanned at the Natural Northern. That works really well but it is a bit pricy. 80 bucks for two coats, one the evening before and one the morning of the show.

yeah I had the same experience with jan tana....show tan was too light by itself, and the comp tan was like putting mud on....but....apparently it looked decent, up close I thought I looked blotchy as hell...but as my avatar shows...its not too bad.

I like Jan Tana with a good base of Pro Tan. I applied Dream Tan on my friend this year and it looked really good ...if you use the "slap" method. Some NPC judges don't like Dream Tan though and very few IFBB pros use it. It is super convenient and really dark.
