Do you restrict water during the last 24 hrs before the show? This seems to be an issue of great debate.
I've done both, restricting water for two days and then be unable to get a pump while looking smooth at the same time, and not restricting at all and looking full but sweating a lot on stage (not sure if that is from the water).

At the TU I decreased water for about half a day, tapering down Friday at 12:00 for evening prejudging, then refilling and repeating the same procedure for Saturday night. I felt I was full enough but still looked dry.

I treat water and carbs the same way, and try to catch the carb load and the drying out before they "peak" and the body starts to compensate.

I think the Jan Tana absorbs much better into your skin than the ProTan, which always left a tacky feel to it (and would run with sweat). I did use the Jan Tana prep products, both the shower scrub and the mosturizer. Next time I'll stop the moisturizer a few days out and really let the skin get dry for even better absorption.

I like the color of Jan Tana but I've always had trouble putting it on evenly. I have a bottle of the competition color but it didn't come with a buff pad. Maybe thats the difference. I've been using Dream Tan #2 for several years. I used Dream Tan's instant self tanner similar to Pro tan for about 4 coats before applying the #2 for my last show. I want to give the Jan Tana another go though.

FYI, I always do the adductor machine along with the abduction. I don't think people realize how much mass your adductor group comprises of the leg. Also, for all of these movements don't be afraid to pack on the weights, I hang a 45 on the abd/adductor machines and do sets of twenty.
what if you don't have access to the machines? I was also thinking of a sidelying leg raise to target the glute-medius but not sure.... as a side note: sometimes when I walk up the stairs my left hip pops a little. The other day I bought a guest pass at a gym and used the abductor machine and activated the glute medius (weird feeling, btw) and the next couple days that "popping" sound went away!

Hip abduction and addiction should mobilize the sacroiliac joint, which should help with SI dysfunction and the popping.

I keep my off-season weight no more than 15-25 pounds heavier than contest weight. I'm not one of those guys who gets a lot thicker with weight gain, I just get smoother and my waist gets bigger.

Off-season I still do cardio five days per week and eat my 7-8 clean meals, just more low glycemic carbs. Last year was the first year I consistently did cardio all year and I was able to hold on to more muscle when the contest rolled around.

And how long is each cardio session and when?

I do twenty minutes first thing in the morning (5:00) on either the eliptical, incline treadmill, or stairmaster at 65% MHR.

Thanks bro - I don't expect much from bodybuilding, but what I really enjoy is knowing that I can serve as some sort of role model for other natural competitors, something I always seaked out for my own motivation coming up.

that makes sense, i did feel the pull around my SI joint, but if I don't have access to a machine for these exercises what do you suggest?

Many gyms have a multi-hip machine, but if not then cable abduction or adduction might work.
