  • Always nice to rediscover a exercise again. Plus kickin ass on it always helps.
Congrats on the mild stone on starting the DVD. I hope it all goes smooth and you blow our minds.

    • That is awesome, can't wait to see this DVD!!

Yeah, I love deadlifts too. I used to do them 'sumo' style, but switched up to regular style a couple years ago. Made my squats feel more powerful out of the hole and they really added some thickness to my hams.

Speaking of legs, doing them tomorrow, thanks for the continual motivation Layne!

          leg extension
          calves
looking to PR on reps with hack. I just watch the vid of Layne going them and then like 5 seconds later do another set. Then it's GO time!

                • 495 is so much weight. how did u build up to that? slow increases in weight and would u sometimes increase by as much as like 30 pounds between sessions?

also i read ur statement about animal protein and liver effect...are eggs included as animal protein? or only meats? cos i sometimes have eggs in two meals plus two meat meals .

                  thanks layne.

                      • cool lol.

pretty much i was asking, when u began u obviously lifted less and had to build up to lifting such a large weight...im curious as to how long it took u to get to such a weight, and the process of getting there ( eg- how big were ur leaps in increased poundage).

I aim to deadlift alot of weight and im curious as to how u got there?

I am at 220 pound deads but i lift slow and controlled not explosive so my increases are small. would love to increase alot but scared to injure myself. im sure whichever approach u took has worked well.

also, thanks for liver info. (please also check my next post about ketogenic diet, it is very interesting statement from a great bodybuilder and nutritionist i know)

                        • This person from my gym had a very similar opinion such as yourself towards ketogenic diet. Here is the info behind what he said...curious as to ur opinion:

I asked a very knowledgeable nutritionist and bodybuilder I know (not some retard im talking experienced and with a PRO-CARD worthy physique and prepared many for contests with success) and he said about ketogenic diet the problem is when protein is over 20 % on ketogenic diet ur body performs process of glucogenesis.

Ur opinion on this? does this ruin the precepts of the diet, or is the glucogenesis ok?
