  • Layne,

first off thanks for having a thread like this, its crazy that you answer all these questions on multiple forums, as always much respect....

question is, for keeping as much fat off as possible during an extended bulk, what advice, besides cyclical bulk/mini cuts, would you give? what key points on a bulking diet do you think are the most successful at keeping fat off?

    thanks bro

    • Layne,

I was wondering what your opinion is on Milos sarcev's theory of Shake comprised of EAA's and BCAA's with a carb source during the workout...which he says is the most anabolic time of day...ne comments or ideas of how this would be true or not?

although milos is used to guys who have over 200lbs of lbm on their frames and have a lot higher rates of protein synthesis....but yeah probably for your avg bber sans drugs WAY overkill

what is your opinion of calorie cycling when bulking to stay lean?
ie, high day, med, med, low, high then repeat.

            sam

i think this has been answered by layne numerous times on video, on the forums, and in many threads. the bulk/cut cycle he utilizes to stay lean is outlined in the bb.com series "life of a natural"

essentially it is a +500 kcal bulk for a certain amount of weeks and then a -500kcal after that to take advantage of the thyroid and hormones.

              • Layne,

quick simple (probably stupid) question. When tracking macronutrient intake, should the insoluble fiber content be added?

Doesn't this stuff just get pushed straight through the body anyway?

                Do you recommend fiber supplementation?

                Thanks,
                Dustin

After my binging fest of a couple days after my show I have noticed alot of bloating.. is this normal? Is it bc of the dairy products and refined sugars that I am not used to?

probably doesn't need to be, but many foods do not differentiate insoluble vs. soluble fiber so I just count all of it

yea bro... if you've been binging for a few days you are going to be bloated... especially after a keto diet. I've seen people eat themselves into offseason condition in under a week
