for me the thing about glutamine is, ever since i started taking it regularly, my legs (which is where i've experience and notice the most fat loss and cutting in a month) have been harder and more defined than they've ever been.
that is because of your diet... not the glutamine

how old are you? (not being a jerk, just for input)

        • i would slightly increase your fat & carbs; you have been losing over 4 lbs per week, i would back off that a bit as you don't want to lose too much weight too fast.

that would be my suggestions... maybe up fat to 40-45 & carbs to 150 or so

            do you....

            1. change it up every workout , making sure certin exercises are in the routine

            2. have a set plan for 3-4 weeks then change it up

            3. just do w/e you feel like doing that particular day

youre right man, i'm gonna have a bmr check done and adjust accordingly.

where should i add more carbs and fat though? like how should I spread it out so that i get the most out of em.

And how do you feel about 'carb loading', is it necessary for fat asses such as myself?

              cheers.

              • Question for Layne regarding your pre-contest diet. I am following your priciples regarding your contest diet for one week now. I have been dieting for a long time but the weightloss was very slowly. So finally I decided to calculate my caloric baseline and make a new diet and found out that I was eating much more calories a day than I thought I would. One week ago I weighted 180 pounds. My baseline is around 2800. I want to lose about 1 to 1,5 pound a week and started off with 2200 kcal with no cardio right now. So today I jumped up the scale and my weight was 176 pounds. So I lost 4 pounds. So I lost way to much to fast. Is this normal for the first week to lose that kind of weight. Maybe because of water weight, because I decreased my carbs quite a bit? And should I aspect to lose no more then 1,5 pounds the next week. Thus, continue with the same amount of calories (2200) Or should I have lost between 1 to 1,5 pounds? Thus, I should increase my calorie intake to 2500 calories or so? What do you think?
(sorry, for the bad spelling I am Dutch)

                I am eating about:

                protein 220
                carbs 192,5
                fat 50

                I am 1.82 meter

                • i think you are probably ok, much of what you lost was probably just water/glycogen. If you lose more than 2 lbs this week then I would up carbs to like 215.

                    • No i've just read about people carb loadin on weekends even if they dont have shows coming up, i always thought it was a little wierd especially for people who were trying to lose fat. (not for a show though).

                      • i think refeed days where you have a bit more carbs in order to replenish & give yourself a mental break are a good idea; but I don't think 'loading' would be a good idea

                        • Layne or anybody else - does anybody know if 'Hot Rox Extreme' is banned by any organizations? I sent an e-mail to the INBA but have not heard back yet. I've been taking them for a week and plan on competing in the INBA in June.

oke, thx for your answer. I will continue on with the same diet and will make adjustments next week if needed.

                              • Layne, it's just a bunch of long words. It doesn't list ephedrine on the bottle. By the way, it seems to work a lot like the old caff/ephedrine/asprin stack.
