I believe that Layne got to his caloric total via trial and errorHis bodybuilding.com/fun/layne2 article has his suggested macro breakdown. In a much earlier post here hs said that he still uses those guidelines, but that the protein was a little high. I think he meant the carbs, since protein was 1 g per lb, up to 1.5 g per lb, and carbs were 2.5-3 g per lb. Fat intake was .3-.4 g per lb.
At some point, one of us needs to go through the whole thread and make a Layne Norton FAQ to sticky here. Perhaps a free tub of Xtend might make people more motivated to do that . . .I min/max my physique
