    I began taking ALA per your recommendation - 300mg pre and 300mg post. No other changes to diet or supplementation. A day after I started this protocol, I have experienced horrific gas and stomach pains. Have you ever heard of this happening?

        could just be something you ate. try it again and see if the same thing happens

        • I started the ALA on Monday, the gas started on Tues and seemed to get worse as the week progressed. I'm gonna see how today goes then make the decision whether to continue or not. Not to mention if I stop and the gas goes away, I'll know for sure. thx

                        sounds fine, however the idea the soluble fiber has no calories is wrong. soluble fiber has about 3kcal/gram as most of it can be fermented by the large intestine to form short chain fatty acids which are absorbed into circulation

                            Layne, I have noticed something the past two seasons that I don't understand. I eat low to moderate carbs ( 100-150g) during the week, and on Mon. and Thurs. raise them to 300g. 150g of that is in my final meal of the day. Without fail, the morning after my weight is down exactly 2 lbs. I would think that with restored glycogen and the water with it my weight would increase. This is not a one time thing, it happens like clockwork. What would be the reason, as it is counter to what I think should occur. Thanks and keep up the good work.

                            • layne, thoughts on GPP instead of regular HIIT cardio or SS cardio. things like tire flipping, sled dragging, sledgehammers, bodyweight circuits, etc...
