    • Sorry to hear about the chest Layne. Of course a tear is never good but at least it was one of your strong points though. If it had been a tear in one of your weak points it would make it much more noticeable.

      • Layne,

When adding up macros, do you count the protein from your oatmeal (carb source) and almonds (fat source)? Thanks!

Why wouldnt you? They are calories too, just because they are maybe not a complete source doesnt mean they are not to be counted. Countem up!

I believe it was JROD that says he consumes 250 g of protein a day, but only measures out 220 g from his protein sources because of all the other protein that comes from carb and fat sources.

              • Thanks guys for the replys, I wasn't too sure because I have heard some conflicting views on it. I will wait and hear what Layne has to say and base my decision off what he says.

                  Ben,
was great meeting you and your fiance... the thing i'm worried about it just making sure it's something that will not affect the shape of my pec for the rest of my life. If it takes a 6,9,12 month recovery period, I can make piece with that so long as it heals

likewise...Dedra had a blast and said you and Isabel were absolutely wonderful people and she's glad I associate myself with good people from the boards instead of all the weirdos

at least you didn't twist your balls

Question. The ALA I purchased also contains biotin. Now I know that's a B vitamin, but what if any benefit would there be with having it with the ALA?
On a plus side. I'm finishing my first week of the 1200mg/day ALA protocol, and I must say that I have noticed a difference with not only how I recover (not just the time but the ability), and it seems easier for me to digest higher amounts of carbs at a time. Being 36 years old, this is a good thing
I'm interested to see what comes in the next 30 days.
Thank you for all the great info and studies.

                    • I hope your MRI comes out okay Layne. I really respect you for continuing to come on these boards and answering questions/helping others with the situation you are having with your pec injury.

Have you checked his FAQ that was put out. I know for a fact I have seen layne answer this question before and I can almost guarantee you he counts them regardless if they come from a carb source or fat source.

there is some evidence that ala depletes biotin so it's not a bad idea to put it in there i guess
