  • Hi Layne

Been searching for a little while but haven't found anything that you've said on this - my apologies if I have missed it.

Tribulus - how to find the most effective type/ product.

From what I have read bulgarian plants (the aerial part) yield the most saponins/ protodioscin - but can't seem to find a decent product - used tribex at one point but didnt really do much.

do you use any of this stuff? Are you a proponent of it for a natty late twenties to mid thirties?

Many thanks - keep up the struggle young brother.

I know bcaas spike plasma levels much higher than whey, which is a good thing right? Lol(Read in Layne's Faq)

So is it ok for me to add 5g of bcaas to my whey? Or should i just forget abt whey Pre and post WO and take more bcaas?

          Thanks!!!
sure that's fine, that would definitely max protein synthesis

For hams I do 3 sets of leg curls followed by 2 sets of stiff-legged deadlifts. The reps for the entire workout are kept between 4-6 reps. The second week I do two sets of squats(6-8 reps), two sets of leg presses(8-10 reps) and two sets of hack squats(10-12 reps) for quads. Hams are treated to leg curls and stiff-legged deadlifts again, just in different rep ranges than the previous week. The third week I use compound sets, rest pause and drop sets for both quads and hams.

As far as my nutrition goes, I basically eat the same things everyday. Money is pretty tight for me right now, so I just eat the cheapest food possible. I eat around 7 or 8 cartons of eggs/day and 8-10 cups of oatmeal/day. I weigh about 305 pounds at 6'2". I don't know my bodyfat level but I would estimate it to be 15-20% maybe??? I can still see my abdominals even though they're blurry. The supplements I take are only soy protein powder(because I'm allergic to everything else), creatine, and glutamine. I also take a multivitamin. I hope this information helps.
well i would knock it down to 2 sessions; but I still don't think the HIIT is making your legs smaller, I'd wager it is something else

In Augst of 2008 I was doing flat bench, and on my first heavy set I lowered the bar down and felt a clicking sound. On the second rep I felt a tearing feeling to be most accurate it felt like it was under my front delt in my armpit area. There was no bruising or swelling, but it was extremely painful. The pain was bad for just a couple of days, and I took a bit of time off. I could have sworn I even heard a tear.

After taking time off I tried to do chest again. I noticed dull pain, but a feeling like something was unstable and susceptible to tear or something. It only happens when I try to do flat barbell press, or dumbbell. I feel it slightly on other exercises but it's not near as bad. I'm thinking it is the tendon that runs from my delt into my chest. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
i'm not an orthopedist man, I have no idea, i would go see a sports orthopedic

Really to figure it out it's trial and error, you need to track your pro/carb/fat intake and monitor it and see how your weight changes. If you gain 3/4 lb in a week then you can probably bet that you are around 350 kcals over maintenance per day as an example. But don't just weigh once per week as it can be very inaccurate with fluctuations from day to day; I would weigh everyday and take the average of those weights for the week.

But then again I'm not very impressive so I probably wouldn't listen to my advice if I was you. You wouldn't want to end up unimpressive like me
