how do you explain results bodybuilders get from using exogenous insulin ?
because that is a supraphysiological dose. the curve for the anabolic effects of insulin is not linear; it is biphasic. Insulin is not anabolic in the physiological range; but in the range that pros use; yes it is anabolic

When you take insulin for BB'ing purposes you have to know what you're doing so you don't put yourself in a comma or in a coffin. You have to eat insane amounts of carbs to offset the negative sides from my understanding.... Waxy maize and what not don't quite have this affect lol.

I had a question about how I might go about setting up a hybrid power lifting/bodybuilding program. I've been reading everything I can get a hold of on the subject of power lifting and have found some great stuff but wanted to know how others have integrated it into their program.
I might be short sighted, but I'm assuming that it would be impossible to do a max effort and dynamic effort workouts in the same week and still do a bodybuilding style routine so this was my assumption about how to possibly do it.
Week 1: Mon: Dynamic Bench w/ accessory movements Tuesday: Max Effort Squat/Deadlift w/ accessories Wednesday: Off Thursday: Bodybuilding routine chest and back Friday: Bodybuilding routine legs Saturday: Bodybuilding routine shoulders and arms Sunday: Off
Week 2: Mon: Max Effort w/ accessory movements Tuesday: Dynamic Effort Squat/Deadlift w/ accessories Wednesday: Off Thursday: Bodybuilding routine chest and back Friday: Bodybuilding routine legs Saturday: Bodybuilding routine shoulders and arms Sunday: Off
Repeat week 1
So for anyone who has done a combined program like Layne has mentioned, any suggestions about how you integrated power lifting into your program?
Good to meet you this past weekend, Layne. Talking with you as often as I did was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. I just hope you will never doubt me again!

hahaha. no way buddy; your word is golden (inside joke)
any idea why I seem to get a better pump when I train with a long-sleeve shirt on, or sweater instead of sleeveless. is it the warmth it provides?
also, I always notice after sitting in a theatre to watch a movie that lasts 2-2.5 hours, I am always pumped like crazy afterwards, probably even more so than when I workout.
any scientific reasons for these symptoms? I'm curious to how I could use these to my advantage for a show-day.
as for sitting down; you get the same thing laying down; I think it probably has something to do with water getting into your lymphatic system making you appear tighter; but i'm really not sure but it's definitely a phenominon

Wait so Insulin for those of us not taking any extra amounts isn't anabolic? I've often heard it was one of the most anabolic hormones our bodies produce?
