        • that was the best no bull radio episode to date! i'm a nutritional science student pursuing his MS and the podcast was like a guest lecture to me. glad to hear a discussion that applies to not the general population, but bodybuilders and athletes alike since it's hard to come across people or literature that are relevant to our needs. thanks layne!

              • thank you for the kind words my friend and welcome to the MD forum. As for your lats; I suggest you do extra sets for your weak side. One arm dumbbell rows; one arm cable pulls, or any one arm back exercise. Try doing 2-3 extra sets each workout.

Thanks for the welcome layne ,, im just into the sport of BB but im freakin hooked already i train at ardy's gym aprodite in holland a lot of BB has past threw there and he is just awesome....although i just went from a fitness gym to a "hardcore gym" cuz in my old gym 5 guys would just stand around the bench press and call with there cells or very little people where serious there...but anyway back to my lats issue

as for my weak side do i train them with the same weight i train my right strong side? or should i train with less weight on my stronger right side

and today i did t-rows for the first time that excercise is a killer man

                  tnx again mr layne

                  • well since that side is weaker you probably won't be able to use as much weight as you can for your strong side. But whatever weight you use for your weakside, you should also use that weight for your strong side so that your weak side can catch up.

That's the funny thing about bodybuilders as opposed to the general public; whereas most have to force themselves to go to the gym and ask for tips on motivation, a bodybuilder can't wait to get to the gym. At least for me, motivation is rarely a problem (unless I'm dieting!). People ask what the secret tip for motivation is but it's quite intangible; you either have the passion or you don't it seems.

Man, day off today and I can't wait to go back to the gym tomorrow...

Exactly. You either have the passion and motivation, or you don't. Most people can't understand why one would look forward to busting his ass in the gym. We can't understand how one would not want to (if capable).

                            • Way to handle your business Layne! Just listened to NBR, it was supreme, man. I was really pissed that it ended where it did!

Excellent discussion though, I really look forward to it continuing next week. Man, I wish they'd have you on for the full 2 hours. I thought you and Dave came up with some really good shit but I'd have to give you the nod if I was to choose a winner to the debate, simply because of the solid science you back it up with.

By the way, nicely articulated too. It's one thing to actually have the knowledge but presenting it in a debate is another skill entirely and I thought you kicked ass brother!
