I met Diamond Dallas Page last year. He was pimpin' his "Yoga for regular guys" routines. He was sold on the idea that his Yoga routines are sufficient to whip people into a hard condition. He explains it on his YRG Web site.

I don't think it ought to be used exclusivley, but it would have positive effects when used in combination with your other training. Val Waugaman used to use yoga in conjunction with her training. I'm currently using it for Rehab since I can't lift with my meniscal tear. I'm combining yoga for stability and ROM, with bodyweight squats, etc. and swimming to keep my muscle and enable my knee to heal.

at my gym they have a yoga class called Yoga for Bodybuilders! Wednesday nights at 8pm! Truly a great class lol you'd be surprised how many male bodybuilders go to these classes and how flexible they are!

Effect of yoga on aerobic and anaerobic power of muscles.
Balasubramanian B, Pansare MS.
Department of Physiology, B. J. Medical College, Pune.
Aerobic Power (VO2 max) and anaerobic power were estimated in medical students before and after six weeks of yogic training. A significant increase in aerobic power and a significant decrease in anaerobic power was observed. This may be due to conversion of some of the Fast Twitch (F.T.) muscle fibres into Slow Twitch fibres (S.T.) during yogic training.

It won't build muscle like weight training, but it stretches your body and makes you feel amazing after. It is hard, but relaxing and peaceful.
I'de def. recommend people to try it.

Not sure who you are talking about but my brother tried it recently. Dave has just retired from competitive BB. He said yoga is very different from BB and more difficult in some ways but didn't think it could replace traditional weight training for getting big muscles.
Here's a still from RTB3 where we show him taking a class and he talks a little about it. I'll be posting that clip soon.
