This album by Fantomas is fucking awesome. Simply as music it's excellent, but listened to in conjunction with the album photography, it's transcendent. What a sinister, creepy piece of art.

I've included a link to the album art. Click on the picture in it to view the next in the series. If you're squeamish, don't click the link.

I can't really post any youtube clips because the record is just one 74 minute track.

    Anyone else into Fantomas?

I saw them live in London (at The Mean Fiddler) in 2001. Dunno if the same members are still present, but at the time it was Dave Lombardo on drums, Buzz on guitar, can't recall his name but the Mr Bungle bassist, and Mike Patton.
Definitely raucous stuff. It's not something I would listen to on a regular basis, but I could certainly appreciate they were trying to make challenging music.
To be honest, that's the only time I've really listened to them.
I've seen some other vids on Youtube with Mike Patton and the singer from the Boredoms doing some similar stuff, with just voice, that would probably be up your alley as well, so to speak.

I saw them a few years back opening for Tool and I think they had the same lineup suhnton mentions. To be honest I wasn't sure what to make of them but I suspect their music isn't the sort of stuff that you "get" on the first listen. I'll check this out.

When I first heard them as a teenager, I didn't even give it a chance and dismissed it as shit. Don't know what made me give it a second chance, but I fucking love it these days. A soft introduction is Directors Cut. Not quite as nutty as the other albums. I just love the darkness of Delirium Cordia.

I found this little snippet on Youtube. Is the whole 74 minutes atmospheric stuff like this or is there heavy music in there? This little piece sounds cool to lay back and chill with headphones.

Cool little video accompaniment someone made though.

Fuck it, I started to describe it, then checked Wikipedia. It gives some good info.

Sounds interesting although I'd likely skip the last 20 minutes

I've been told I need to listen/read this, but I haven't had the opportunity yet. Looks cool.

                    Mainly listening.

But make sure you've at least seen the cover. It's truly the icing on the cake.
